PageNav Privacy Policy
PageNav helps users read and navigate long web content. It creates a floating outline, supports section and transcript navigation, and lets users export readable content or explicitly send it to a selected AI service.
Information accessed and processed
- Page structure, visible text, links and other content needed to build navigation or produce an export. When a user exports a supported chat page, the selected content can include personal communications and any information contained in that conversation.
- The active page URL, title and hostname, as needed for page navigation, site preferences, exports and selecting a destination tab.
- YouTube video identifiers and the preferred transcript language when retrieving subtitles through the transcript service. Transcript data may be cached locally.
- Local preferences, including themes, panel settings and site-level enable or disable settings.
- For users who choose to connect an account, the account identifier, email address, display name, session tokens and membership entitlement information needed to authenticate and synchronize membership. These features communicate with the configured account service.
Local processing and external requests
Page outline analysis runs locally in the browser. Ordinary outline generation does not send page content to an AI service.
When the user explicitly chooses to send content to NotebookLM, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok, the selected content is transmitted to that chosen destination. The destination's privacy policy and account settings apply to its handling of the content. Users should review the content before sharing it.
Transcript retrieval sends the requested video identifier and language to the configured transcript service. Account authentication and membership synchronization communicate with the configured authentication and membership service. Where an export retrieves external content or resources, the relevant host receives the request. Network services may receive normal connection metadata, such as an IP address, as part of those requests.
Storage and retention
PageNav stores preferences, transcript cache and optional account/session and membership state in local browser extension storage. Local extension data can be removed by clearing extension data or uninstalling the extension. Content explicitly sent to a selected service, and account records maintained by the account service, follow the retention rules of those services.
Data use commitments
- PageNav does not sell user data or transfer it to third parties outside the approved use cases needed for the disclosed functionality.
- PageNav does not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the extension's stated purpose.
- PageNav does not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
